JOB ANNOUNCEMENT BRIDGE INSPECTOR POSITION COLUMBIA COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS Columbia County Public Works is seeking an Engineering Professional that is interested in a great opportunity for growth and involvement in a variety of transportation projects. The department is seeking an individual meeting the minimum qualifications of a certified NHI Bridge Inspector to become part of the Engineering Services division. The engineering services division is responsible for the planning, design and construction of facility, road and bridge projects. Duties include the county-wide bridge inspection program; applying detailed knowledge of engineering design and construction methods in performing the complex drafting and computation work for public works design, construction, and as-built inspections; ensuring compliance with plans, specifications and applicable standards; and using computer drafting and surveying instruments. Starting salary will be between $52,954 and $78,238 per year, depending on qualifications of applicant. The county offers a generous benefit package which includes paid vacation and sick leave, 11 paid holidays plus two floating holidays per year, $950 per month stipend for Medical, Vision and Dental insurance, Washington Public Employees Retirement Systems (PERS), and an HRA VEBA Account.
