KITTITAS–The Kittitas Lady Coyotes cruised to a three-set win over Dayton-Waitsburg last Saturday as DW Volleyball awaited the fifth of a five-game road series tonight, October 10, at Mabton.

Dayton-Waitsburg is now 1-2 in league play, 5-9-1 overall as it heads into the home stretch of the 2019 season. Following the Mabton match, Homecoming Week opponents will be DeSales on Tuesday, October 15, and Columbia-Burbank on Thursday, October 17. Both matches begin at 6 p.m. as “home court” moves to Dayton for the second half of the season.

Kittitas took the match 25-5, 25-15, 25-15 and improves to 8-5 overall, 3-1 in EWAC play.

At Kittitas on Saturday, Sadie Seney had five kills and three ace serves.

Trinity Abel was tough on defense with 15 serve receives and 14 digs.

Megan Forney made six assists and Amy Farley blocked two at the net.

Visiting Tri-Cities Prep on October 3, Dayton-Waitsburg dropped its match with Tri-Cities Prep on October 5 by three straight sets, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-10.

At Liberty Christian on October 1, Dayton-Waitsburg won in three sets, 25-18, 25-11 and 25-22.

Seney led the team’s 16 kills with five, followed by Farley with four, Kirsten Miller and Mackena Culley, both with two, and solo kills by Teagan Larsen, Megan Forney, and Cassidy Laughery.

At the service line, Seney nailed three ace serves, and Kailyn Lewis, Forney, Culley, Laughery and Farley each made one ace. C. Benavides and Miller both served 100%.

Farley led the team with two blocks, and Seney, Miller and Forney each had one.

The team counted 34 digs, evenly spread among the team with the exception of Trinity Abel with 14, Miller with seven and Kailyn Lewis with five.

Forney led the team in assists with six.

On defense, Abel was the top serve receiver with 15 with seven receive errors. Miller received nine with three errors and Laughery caught three with zero errors.
