Homecoming Week...and more!

October 17, 2019

DAYTON–The week has come, Homecoming Week! We are already part-way through it, but no need to worry, the fun and shenanigans don’t stop. The students of DHS have some special things in store. On Thursday Oct.17 the Highschool students will put on a Lip Sync Battle in the highschool auditorium during 7 period, starting with the Freshman class, and ending with Seniors. These shows will be judged and ranked, and a winner will be announced! On Friday the 18, the ASB of Dayton Highschool have organized a special pep rally this year. The annual homecoming pep rally, will be held on the courthouse lawn from 9:10am to 10:25am, the community is invited to join in on the fun and watch. Come on down to the courthouse on Friday and show your bulldog pride!

Last Friday the Dayton-Waitsburg Valley Football team had a thrilling home game in Dayton against the Liberty Christian Patriots, with great energy in preparation for this week’s Homecoming Football game. The huge crowd was entertained by the many great moments and exciting plays! Meanwhile, the DW Cheer Squad halftime show was a real crowd pleaser. Despite technical issues with the music, the girls still got out on the field and gave the crowd a great show.

Aside from homecoming, we have another extra special occasion coming up. The DW Halloween dance! Held by the parents of the Dayton and Waitsburg classes of 2021, the dance will take place in the Columbia County Fairgrounds Youth Building from 9-12, and will be themed based on the popular horror movie “The Purge.” DW students, go support your Juniors!
