DAYTON–A roadside attraction and pullout, a short distance west of here on Highway 12, showing the Touchet Valley's history with the Green Giant Company, will be dedicated during a ceremony at 11 a.m., Friday, November 15. Community members are invited to attend.

This plaque indicates the names of numerous volunteers and former Green Giant employees involved in establishing the informational displays.

The pullout provides a perfect location to view Dayton's Green Giant on the Hill. Former Washington State Representative Terry Nealey pitched the idea for a pullout to Washington State Department of Transportation shortly before retiring in 2018. With WSDOT approval, Nealey and other community members developed a sign design, identified a location for the pullout, and sought permission to use the logo from B&G Foods, owner of the Green Giant brand.

Due to limited parking at the pullout, a bus will depart at 11 a.m. from Blue Mountain Station, 700 Artisan Way in Dayton, to take attendees to the site for a formal dedication and ribbon cutting.

Following the dedication, the public is invited to a reception at the BMS Co-op Market and Nursery, located at 700 Artisan Way, Suite F. Refreshments will be provided.

There will be a brief presentation on the history of the Green Giant in the Touchet Valley. A collection of Green Giant memorabilia will be on display.
