At the Theater

Kirsten Bell and Idina Menzel reprise their voice-acting roles as Anna and Elsa in “Frozen 2,” playing at the Liberty Theater, just in time for Christmas break.

In this sequel to “Frozen,” Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven leave Arendelle to travel to the ancient, autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land they heard of from their father when they were small. With Arendelle threatened by the four spirits of the forest (Earth, Water, Fire and Air), the groups come to discover the origin of Elsa’s powers - just in time to save Arendelle.

The “Frozen” franchise has launched with tremendous box office success, and promises to keep going as a reliable Disney holiday offering. Soon after the first film came out, little girls could be found all over the land dressing up as Elsa and having parties. One young lady whom I watched grow up discovered she could dress up as Elsa and quite naturally become the incarnation of that blonde character, and the girls just loved her. Maybe, during Christmas break, when you come to see “Frozen 2” at the Liberty, there will be a few little Elsa’s in costume in the audience.

“Frozen 2” is rated PG with a run time of 103 minutes. The theater will be closed Christmas Eve. For more information visit http://www.libertytheater.org.
