DAYTON–We are in a historic time and history has yet to write the final chapter.

Hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs as a global pandemic curtails business activity as 2020, an election year, started.

Nearly all political posturing and campaigning came to a screeching halt in February and March as precautions were put in place. Supporters of President Donald Trump, by all appearances, are united in re-electing him to a second term. A large field of Democratic candidates has been narrowed to one man, Vice President Joe Biden.

As the U.S.S. United States heels and pitches on the tumultuous waves of near hysteria over an invisible foe, Biden is a loose cannon, swerving and careening, and blasting away–and trying to make his way to the bridge.

Sadly, Biden appears to be unable to stay on track with a train of thought or line of reasoning, making gaffe after gaffe.

The other day, on a program with Charlamagne tha God, the presumptive Democratic nominee concluded the interview with “I tell you if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” Biden later walked the comment back, apologizing for being arrogant and condescending.

Speaking in early march at a campaign rally in Texas, Biden attempted to inspire the crowd by quoting from the Declaration of Independence. Instead, he tripped and fell: “We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created … by the–you know–you know the thing.”

Get ready for a wild summer. Two national political parties will convene in some way to nominate its candidate. It’s wild to imagine that the Democratic Party, by any measure, will conclude that Joe Biden is their best candidate. I think there’ll be a brokered convention and who knows how that’ll turn out.
