DAYTON–Kristie Korslund has been named Interim Library Director of the Columbia County Rural Library District for a period of six months effective August 1. The appointment was made at the Board's regular meeting held July 20 in response to Director Dusty Waltner's resignation as of July 31, 2020.

Korslund has been involved in the Library's response to the COVID 19 pandemic and the Board of Trustees is confident in her ability to assume the Director's duties during this time.

The Library will continue to offer the services allowed under the pandemic guidelines, including curbside service and maintenance of its numerous online resources. The remodel work on the main floor is nearly complete and staff members are currently restocking the shelves.

Construction of the circulation desk and public computer bar is expected to begin in the upcoming week. The remodel will provide improved access to materials and increased privacy and availability of computer workstations.
