DAYTON–Two power pole fires last weekend darkened residences and businesses here, causing a pair of power outages. Pacific Power customers in Dayton, Pomeroy and Waitsburg were affected, said Bill Clemens, Regional Business Manager for the utility.

The first outage occurred at 9:02 a.m. and affected 902 customers, Clemens said. Power was restored at 1:15 p.m.

A second outage tripped at 1:22 p.m., also due to a pole fire. Some 1,895 customers were affected in Dayton, along with 1,190 in Pomeroy and 1,093 in Waitsburg, Clemens said.

Power to all but 59 Dayton customers was restored by 2:15 p.m., and the remaining customers were restored at 11:46 p.m., he said.
