To the editor,

Perry Dozier, as a county commissioner and citizen, has provided many benefits to our communities. The completion of 7th Street rebuilds in Waitsburg with streets, sidewalks, etc. was aided by Perry, while a commissioner, to secure funding for this project to aid in its completion.

I question the validity of many items our media reports now days as most appear one sided and biased instead of letting the reader draw their own conclusion as reporting used to and still should be done! What would Edward R. Morrow do if he witnessed the true lack of journalism portrayed today?

Being an active member of the community, valley and state on various levels, it is hard for most individuals who have seen his positive influence through his various roles being narrowed down to a single action of biased reporting where others are choosing what he should or should not do with their (his families) land.

For someone who has dedicated and served this valley and state in various roles, whose name is known for more than this, who will stop and visit with you in the grocery store or Home Depot for that matter - he is a true representation and knows this valley!

February, during the flood, Perry stood shoulder to shoulder with neighbors and community members filling sandbags, loading trucks for deliveries to affected areas when his own home was threated - he was there to help his community! He is out and about, willing to help/listen and problem solve!

To have a candidate with a moral compass, willing to get into the trenches, lending a helping hand - that is who I would vote for hands down any given day!

As John F. Kennedy stated

“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.”

To all who question Perry, give me and all who read this a list of things Perry has done which has positively influenced as well as hurt our community, valley and state? I ask the same for Danielle since I had never heard of or about her before this summer–what has she really done?

Join me in voting for Perry Dozier for State Senate.

Tired of it all—I want change! Are you as tired as I am of the division, the divisiveness, the lies, the conspiracy theories, the incited violence by a president who supposedly supports “law and order,” the continued spread of the virus, career politicians, big money in political affairs, and the list goes on?

More importantly, I am tired of a representative who does not have courage or allegiance to our country to stand up to Trump. She has never spoken up to voice concern over any of his statements and falsehoods. Why? How can she not speak out against his saying he will not accept the results of the election once confirmed? That silence goes against the oath she took to support our constitution.

It is certainly time for a change! Vote out McMorris Rodgers—she has had her change to support us. We need a representative with honesty, integrity, courage, allegiance to our country over party, and who will work in a bipartisanship way to get things done for us, the 5th Congressional District. Vote for Dave Wilson, the change we need now!

I’m writing in support of Scott Marinella for Superior Court Judge. I have appeared in the Superior Courts of the three counties and recognize the uniqueness of each. I have also had the opportunity to work with Marinella as an attorney and a judge on a number of matters throughout my career. I believe Marinella has the experience and temperament to be a fair and impartial judge in each court. In addition to having more experience, Marinella is the only candidate who is not named in the pending litigation against Scott Gallina and Asotin County by current and former courthouse employees. This is important to me because I believe Marinella will be better able to improve the trust and dependability of the courts as our communities continue to deal with the allegations against the former Judge. Please join me in seeking a new court with a vote for Scott Marinella.

I hired G. Scott Marinella to join me in my Dayton law firm in 1983. I realized within a few weeks he was a very able, smart, young lawyer who would fit very well into our community.

In the many years we practiced together he has proven this to be true. He was deputy prosecutor while I was the Columbia County Prosecutor for 16 years. In addition we had a very diversified practice which, included family law, court cases involving many issues, real estate closings, farm leases and estate planning. We also represented clients such as individuals, businesses, farmers and Districts, such as the School, Hospital and Port. He gained a breadth of legal experience over time.

He always liked the court room and had a judicial bearing about him. He ran successfully for District Court Judge in 2002 and won each election since. During this time he honed his judicial skills, which include his very thoughtful approach to decision making. He listens well and thoroughly reads all briefs and documents concerning a case before rendering a decision. He is very fair minded and his goal is to render the proper decision to provide justice based on the law.

In addition to his judicial experience, his greatest attribute is his calm, thoughtful demeanor, especially during times of stressful conflict. Scott Marinella would make a great Superior Court Judge. I urge you, as the voters, to support him.

I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of G. Scott Marinella for the position of Superior Court Judge.

I met Scott in 1985, when he was the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Columbia County and I was starting my law practice in Criminal Defense in Spokane, Washington. It was a difficult matter involving both Garfield and Columbia Counties. Scott was extremely insightful and knowledgeable, and was very instrumental in resolving the situation that was beneficial to my client and the community as a whole.

Over the years, he has shown great respect to anyone that he has dealt with, either as a client, or as an individual brought before him in his capacity as a District Court Judge, or as a Superior Court Judge Pro-Tem/Commissioner. Scott was the Past-President of the District/Municipal Court Judge’s Association Board of Governors for the State of Washington. He began on the Board of Governors as the elected District Court Small-County Representative, as I am in that position now.

His years of being a Civil Law practitioner has given him an extremely wide range of areas of law that is an absolute necessity for anyone who is to be competent in the diverse cases that come before a Superior Court Judge, and I would urge the voters to put their faith in him as their elected Superior Court Judge.

Garbe Reser shares my values

Perry Dozier is a party line Trump/Culp supporter.

According to the Walla Walla Union Bulletin, Dozier said, “He wants Culp to be the man he answers to as the district’s next state senator.” I believe our next state senator should answer to all the citizens he represents. Not to a small town sheriff who believes you only enforce the laws you happen to like.

My vote goes to the candidate who will uphold the law, believes in science and shares my values that all people have a right to be equally represented. My vote is for Danielle Garbe Reser for State Senator.
