Editor’s Note: This is an ending portion of a letter that appeared in the December 31, 2020 Dayton Chronicle, but was not included in the original submission, and completes the writer’s letter in full. CB

To the editor,

…”I did ask Mr. Amerein why he spoke with Ms. Literal about the incidents but did not reach out to the parents of my group? I also told everyone at meeting that it was disturbing for me to see certain individuals giggling, rolling their eyes, downplaying what happened when only one adult was present when all four incidents occurred. Yet, they all committed to saying. That is not what happened at all! The meeting ended with he said, she said. Nothing we can do. New rules are Mind your own business. Do not interact with children unless they are your child or member. Ms. Vandever states it is all about the kids and 4-H. It is! Just depends on what 4-H group. I would also like to add that during my time as being a boarder at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. I was told that I keep poking the bear? I did ask at meeting. What bear am I poking? That there are complaints against me also. Okay, what are the specifics on complaints? As I can’t fix the problems if I do not know what they are. I was told. 1. I have been caught on camera looking into horses stalls that are not mine. There is a big difference between actually looking in a stall versus walking pass stalls. I do walk pass the stalls to get to round pens and bathroom. 2. I tried to get kids disqualified before horse show due to improper English tack? Which in fact, I did tell a parent what they can do to avoid being dismissed by judge the day of show. 3. I have been accused of doing so many things that I could write a book, but do you see letters to the editor in my defense? No and you will not because I prefer to keep a low profile, no drama. I will go to bat for my group if necessary. There are always two sides to the story. With all due respect. I will continue to ask questions at Commissioners meetings. I will continue to make sure that it is fair for ALL the children in regards to boarding and paying for the facilities. I will continue to make sure that my group does follow the rules set in place by the Commissioners. With the new Mind your own business rule. Do not interact with children unless they are your child or member will be followed because no matter what I say or do. It gets all twisted around. I can’t control what people choose to say and do. The year 2020 was definitely a eye opener for me in regards to being a boarder again at the fairgrounds. I do have broad shoulders. I will continue to put on my cowgirl boots, love my horses and teach my group to the best of my ability. If anyone has questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact me.
