Plans in motion for Columbia Pulp to restart

February 18, 2021

STARBUCK–Columbia Pulp LLC will fully re-start the Lyons Ferry Pulp Plant in Columbia County sometime in early May, 2021. It was due to COVID–19 concerns in April 2020 that the plant shutdown, leaving only essential personnel to continued support of the facility.

Even though there has been a prolonged shutdown, the company has worked to obtain additional funding to perform modifications to the plant aimed at increasing production. The company plans to re-commission the plant as well as implement process improvements over the next 8-12 weeks. "We're excited in taking this next step for Columbia Pulp," said NW Straw Pulp CEO John Begley. The marketplace is looking for our innovative products and we're better prepared than ever before to meet that challenge."

Columbia Pulp Lyons Ferry Plant facility will restart saleable production in early May, and when fully operational, will employ over 90 full time maintenance and production employees.
