Ian Michael "Mike" Weeden

December 13, 1957–March 11, 2021

Ian Michael (Mike) Weeden, 63, died at home on March 11, 2021.

Mike was born in England to Russell Weeden Sr. and Joyce (Allen) Koschmeder on December 23, 1957. As a child, Mike lived in several different states before coming to Dayton, with his family, on Dec. 30, 1972. He went to Dayton High School graduating in 1976.

Mike worked seasonally at the Green Giant Cannery until he got a job at Columbia Cut Stock. He was there for over 30 years. He was so excited when he got a job at the Washington State Penitentiary. He liked working with the other guards and said they were like family and would tell us funny stories of things that happened to him on his shifts. Unfortunately, a back injury caused him to retire early.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, brother Russell Weeden Jr. and Step-father David Koschmeder.

He is survived by his two sons, Russell Weeden III and Jacob Weeden, his mother, sister Laraine Holtsclaw, niece Samantha Holtsclaw and nephew Derek Holtsclaw, two cousins in Calif., and aunts, uncles and cousins in England.

At his request, there will be no service. His ashes will be spread at a later date.
