DAYTON–The Columbia County Health District welcomes two new healthcare providers, April Biggs, M.D., and Seth Alford, FNP-BC.

Dr. Biggs was born in Wynne, Ariz., and graduated from Hendrix College with a Bachelor's degree in chemistry. She went on to study medicine and obtained a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark., and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Texas A&M/Scott and White Hospital.

Since graduating from residency in 2003, she has worked in the Yakima Valley. She has practiced full-spectrum medicine throughout her 21 years practicing Family Medicine, from delivering babies to various office procedures to geriatrics. "I especially enjoy providing care for entire families as this gives greater insight regarding their shared environment and stressors, which can significantly impact health and well-being," said Biggs.

Biggs is married and the mother of a 25-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. She is an avid animal lover and have had a wide variety of pets over the years. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, and spending time with my family and pets.

"I cannot express how excited I am to join this wonderful community," said Biggs. "I am genuinely looking forward to being a part of the Dayton/Waitsburg community and meeting you all."

Seth Alford FNP-BC is please to accept the invitation to become a member of the Dayton community as a Nurse Practitioner. The Walla Walla Valley has been his home for many years growing up in a family who farmed in eastern Oregon. He completed high school in Walla Walla, and worked at Providence St. Mary's Medical Center in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and as a hospital supervisor. He left Walla Walla to obtain a greater medical knowledge and serve his Country.

Seth Alford, FNP-BC, is an Air Force veteran and native of the Walla Walla Valley.

In the United States Air Force, he realized the importance of a great team, hard work, and good counsel to achieving the mission. "With this realization it is integral to acknowledge the core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all that we do," said Alford.

"To provide care to another is a great responsibility, and to serve as a medical provider is even greater. I think of the words of the wisest man in history at the beginning of his reign, 'I am but a child, and do not know...' It is awesome to see how God honored the prayer of a humble man as he prayed for divine wisdom," Alford continued. "May this be my prayer each day as I serve my God, country, and neighbor."

He is excited to become a member of the team and practice these core values as a Family Nurse Practitioner within the community.
