Pastor's Corner

We are promised that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord. We aren't promised that in all things we won't have pain or sorrow. We aren't promised that all things will be precisely what we choose. Neither are we promised that we will understand why certain things happen. That is something the Lord may reveal to us later on.

We are promised that the Lord causes all of it to work for good if we love Him. (Romans 8:28) It isn't uncommon for someone to have lived with a particular sorrow for many years and still not see the good that has come from it. However, there is one good thing that always occurs when we stay tender and appreciative toward the Lord. It is this: Our sorrows bring us deeper into the love of God that fills and comforts our hearts. We never lose! We are more firmly embraced by His love. We are held deeper in His heart as we taste and experience His loving kindness.

The richness of the depth of the love of God far outweighs the earthly loss and sorrow we experienced. After the death of her child, a mother put it like this: "How precious the Lord has become to me since I lost my little girl". "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all" 2 Corinthians 4:17.

The glory that awaits those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is beyond anything we can imagine. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". Jn. 3:16
