There’s a lady I know with Cherokee blood. She was raised in Waitsburg, but has traveled far and wide. She’s a lady with a big heart and a ready smile. Some know her from her Crooked Fences produce garden or her Eagle’s Club connections. I know her because she has chosen to run for Dayton City Council. She’s a helper, she’s a giver, she’s Cindi John.

To me, spending time with Cindi is like sitting by a bubbling stream. She’s engaging, interesting, and has done a plethora of things. One thing I admire about Cindi is her ability to listen. She listens to one’s concerns, one’s struggles, one’s heart. Being a gentle spirit, she is concerned that the people of Dayton are not pushed into things they do not want.

Though Cindi is kind and empathetic, I have noticed she has a quick wit about her. She is smart as a whip and can put facts into a conversation without being a know it all. She’s willing to stand up and say “No” to excessive spending. The research she does in impressive. And I like to research stuff.

I suggest you stop by Crooked Fences and have a chat with Cindi John. Not only will you likely leave with some locally grown produce, you’ll have a deeper perspective of issues going on around us. You probably will feel like me and want to vote for Cindi John for City Council.

Washington residents need to know: As of July 25, the new Washington law in policing Inslee signed no longer allows police to attend crisis situations putting all victims of crime (including domestic violence victims and youth runaways) at extreme risk.
