DAYTON–The 2021 Columbia County Fair is "back in the saddle again" and its Fair Hostess Kiley Curran, is looking forward to greeting everyone and everybody who come through the turnstyles during the Fair this coming weekend.

Seventeen-year-old Curran, a resident of Waitsburg and a Columbia County Fair Hostess for a second consecutive year, is thrilled and honored to be representing the local fair again.

"We have a lot of fun things planned for the Fair this year," Curran said.

"We're having the rodeo on Friday night, the Demo Derby on Saturday and I hope to see people come out and support the kids at the Livestock Market Sale," Curran said.

"Plus, come out and enjoy the entertainment we have on the Midway Stage," she added. "I'd like to see everybody come out and have fun!"

Curran is the daughter of Kristy and Jason Taylor of Waitsburg, and she is currently attending Running Start at Walla Walla Community College, while a senior at Wa-Hi.

Curran's fair hostess duties do not include riding a horse and she has ably represented the Fair by appearing on the fair's float in local and regional parades. But she does love to ride and she has a good friend who lets her ride Zip.

Curran's Running Start studies are focused on biology. Her career plans are to get into the pharmaceutical field. "I want to study natural medications," Curran said. Her career goals is to help develop natural medicines instead of opioids that people are so easily addicted to.
