Eleanor Frances Strode

Eleanor (Elly) Frances Strode passed away in Roanoke Virginia on September 16, 2021. She was 83 years old. Eleanor graduated from Dayton High School in 1956 and from Washington State University in 1960. She worked as a foreign services agent for the U.S. Government for her entire career. Her assignments took her to Korea, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Indonesia, and Japan. Upon retiring, she settled in Covington, Va., where she enjoyed gardening, travel to the coast and her pets.

Proceeding her death were her parents Lawrence (Larry) Strode and Frances (Kitterman) Strode.

Elly is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Bill) Strode in Naknek, Ak., and her sister Anne Strode (Terry Steinhoff) in Dayton.
