Eleanor Frances Strode

Eleanor (Elly) Frances Strode passed away in Roanoke Virginia on September 16, 2021. She was 83 years old. She was born in Walla Walla on March 22, 1938. Eleanor graduated from Dayton High School in 1956 and from Washington State University in 1960. She worked as a foreign services agent for the US Government for her entire career. Her assignments took her to Korea, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Indonesia, and Japan. Upon retiring, she settled in Covington, Virginia where she enjoyed gardening, travel to the coast and her pets.

Proceeding her death were her parents Lawrence (Larry) Strode and Frances (Kitterman) Strode.

Elly is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Bill) Strode in Naknek, Alaska and her sister Anne Strode (Terry Steinhoff) in Dayton.
