Retiring District Court Judge Scott Marinella and his wife Sue, the County Superior Court Clerk who is also retiring Dec. 30, were sequestered in the Jury Room of the Columbia County Courthouse, along with a jury of friendly well wishers, colleagues and friends last Friday. Visitors enjoyed cake and refreshments, wittily emblazoned with "Quitters," and shared stories and laughs with the couple, who plan to spend their free time following grandchildren and enjoying well-earned time off. Former law partner Terry Nealey and wife Jan journeyed from western Washington to extend their congratulations, and Walla Walla Superior Court judges Brandon Johnson and Scott Wolfram also visited, as did court officials from neighboring Garfield County.
