DAYTON–A year after throngs converged on Main Street here for a semi-post-pandemic get-together for all things circumferential, the 28th All Wheels Weekend 2022 Car Show is careening full throttle toward another boisterously successful Father's Day weekend event as upwards of 150 entries are registered and some new and fascinating attractions have been added to the lineup, according to Chamber Manager Belinda Larson and the All Wheels Weekend Committee.

In addition to the time-honored attractions such as the Friday Night Cruise, Saturday's Show & Shine, Outlaw Dragsters, Poker Walk, Men's "Drag" Races and demo derby will be, yes, Elvis and Patsy Cline, "cackle" (nitro) cars, tours of the historic Pullman car "The Abraham Lincoln," and a restored Columbia Rail locomotive. Saturday afternoon relive the fabulous Sixties at a screening of George Lucas's classic "American Graffiti" at the Liberty Theater, then head to the Columbia County Fairgrounds for what organizers assure the public will be a smashing conclusion (pun intended) to the event, the All Wheels Demo Derby.

If you want to try your hand on the Dayton Depot's hand car, venture to 2nd and Commercial to give it a try.

Sunday morning you may enjoy Father's Day Breakfast, courtesy of the Skyline Juniors, at the Fairgrounds, from 7 a.m. Stick around because at 9 a.m. is the AWW Golf Tournament with the $10,000 Putting Contest at the Touchet Valley Golf Course.

The weather is forecast to be cool with a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday night, with mostly sunny Saturday and a high near 70° F., and only a 20% chance of rain. Sunday the National Weather Service predicts to be partly sunny with a slight chance of showers.

Early registration will located at the corner of 1st and Main Streets on Friday, June 17 at 4–7 p.m.

Friday's fun stars with the presentation of cars in the HomeStreet Bank parking lot beginning at 7 p.m. Enjoy the "cackle" (nitro) cars on Main Street at 6:45 p.m., and "Cruise Control" returns at 7 p.m. for two hours of live music on the Courthouse Lawn.

Saturday begins with registration from 6:30-10 a.m., with Show N Shine commencing at 9 a.m.

Markeeta Little Wolf will give a Tribute to the Flag is at 9:30–10 a.m., and Outlaw Lawn Dragsters will run at 10 a.m., Noon and 2 p.m. The Poker Walk, sponsored by Dingle's of Dayton, will be at 10 a.m.–2 p.m, and the Men's "Drag" Races on 2nd and Main Streets at 1 p.m.

Cackle cars will be cackling throughout the day on Main Street.

The King, Elvis Presley, and Patsy Cline, will be mingling on the Courthouse Lawn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the small fry, Kid's Zone will be in front of Elk Drug on Main Street.

At 3 p.m., relive the angst and excitement of growing up during California's car-razy Sixties by taking in "American Graffiti" at the Liberty. It stars Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Paul LeMat and Harrison Ford.

Out at the Fairgrounds, the Beer Garden will open at 3 p.m. and the Demo Derby will start its roaring excitement at 5 p.m.

To finalize the Show and Shine competitions, the trophy presentation will take place in the Historic Depot Courtyard at 4 p.m.

Sunday offers a Father's Day Breakfast, sponsored by the Skyline Juniors, at the Columbia County Fairgrounds at 7 a.m. and a Golf Tournament and $10,000 putting contest at 9 a.m.–12 p.m., sponsored by Gravis Law.

The popular Demo Derby starts off at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Fairgrounds.

A 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the 2022 Raffle. This 4x4 is powered by a V-8 and is equipped with a tow package. It will go to the winning $10 ticket which will be drawn during the trophy presentation.
