Work in Progress

DAYTON–The Touchet Valley's iconic Green Giant, which peers across our verdant valley from a hillside a short way west of town, recently got a trim so he'll be much more visible and attractive to the scores of people who stop at the point of interest along Highway 12 each day.

Before

The Giant got the attention over two days last week by volunteers Dale Walling, Emil Johnson and Richard Nicely, with transportation, equipment and nutritional support from Kim Lyonnais, Joe McMillen and Randy Mann.

Jolly Green, outlined on the hillside of Gene Warren's in painted pavers, had become overgrown with vegetation. The crew got to work with string trimmers and gave the Giant a pretty good clearing off, Walling said.
