Pastor's Corner

The Spokane area Buffalo rancher enthralled the hospital waiting room visitors with his stories about caring for his Buffalo herd. He said that it could be dangerous moving them from one place to another so he applied a common-sense method of strewing hay along the path he wanted the herd to take. It worked. They went where he wanted. His method was in some ways similar to the Lord's plan. The Bible says, "God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance" Romans 2:4.

The Lord has ever richer pastures of blessing and goodness in mind for us. He uses the kindness He offers us every day to lead us to repentance, meaning a change of mind and heart that results in a change of direction. In turning more and more of our life over to Him, we are moving toward richer pastures. His daily goodness to us calls us forward to a life increasingly rich in blessing.

Recently a person who nearly died in a car accident said to me, "It's a wonderful day to be alive! God is good!". We are alive to enjoy this very day. The Lord has blessed us this very day with His love and goodness. "Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us with His benefits, even the God of our salvation" Ps.68:19.

His daily gifts to us are an invitation to draw closer. Our appreciation and praise find its best home in His love.
