Strength promised each day

September 29, 2022

The challenges of our day may appear to be overwhelming. We may be keenly aware of our insufficiencies, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities. Yet when we put our trust in the Lord we are promised strength for each day. The Bible says "your strength will equal your days" Deut. 33:25.

The propeller on a boat seems very small related to the vessel it pushes forward. Compared to the job that lies ahead, that small propeller seems to be no match. However, the power that is directed through it moves it through miles and miles of thick water and fierce storms, even carrying a load of people with significant weight.

It isn't so much the ability of the small propeller that moves the boat onward. It is the power directed through it. We are smaller than the challenges we face. We don't measure up to the task before us. All kinds of things may happen that make our challenges even more difficult. But God's mighty power flowing through us is more than up to the task.

We are "more than conquerors through Him that loved us" and believing in Him we are promised the power of the Holy Spirit in our inner being, strengthening us for our day and each task in it. Our vision must be on the One who is directing the power through us, not the size of the task or the sea of turmoil that is before us.
