Pastor's Corner

A fan of a very accomplished musician thanked him for "making it all about the music and not about the musician." The fan was impressed with the humility of the musician and experienced the blessing of God's special touch in his songs. Even in videos he allows the camera to catch glimpses of his fingers moving up and down the piano keyboard but he never shows himself. In his particular case, he desires the Lord to be glorified and not himself.

Children of God carry the desire that the Lord is glorified in all they do. Not only in the entertainment world but in everyday life it can be tempting to make it all about ourselves. Such a practice leaves us dissatisfied and empty. It blinds us to the needs of others. Those who make it all about themselves can find themselves isolated and lonely.

Nothing we do could ever compare to the wonderful love God has for us in sending His Son to die for our sins on the cross. Whatever our gifts and abilities, they are from Him. It is in glorifying and honoring Him that others are lifted up, encouraged, and comforted. The Lord uses us in our everyday life when we ask for a servants' heart of humility in all we do.

"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him" Col. 3:17.

It all begins when we place our trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
