It was a nippy cold day Monday when work was underway to remove sediment from an outflow drain for a pond in the 1st and Main streets area, adjacent to Flour Mill Park, which collects runoff from that section of town. The rock, deposited by previous high-water events, was obstructing access for maintenance of the drain pipes, according to information from the November City Council meeting. City leaders expressed concern that the situation, if unresolved, could adversely affect the Main Street Bridge and the surrounding area, should another high-water even occur. City Public Works Director Ryan Paulson, not pictured, supervised the work.
