COLLEGE PLACE–Dayton-Waitsburg Wolfpack basketball notched another pair of victories last weekend, beating River View 45-33 at home Friday and clobbering the Knights of Walla Walla Valley Academy here Saturday, 88-47. DW's record is now 5-3 overall, 2-1 in league.

League opponent Warden visited last Tuesday and this weekend has two more home games, Columbia-Burbank on Friday and TriCities Prep Saturday.

At WWVA, four Wolfpack players scored in double digits, lead by Monte Pettichord with 23, Gage Holm with 20, Spencer Hansen with 17 and Ryland Kilts with 12 as DW scored 46 in the first half and then held the Knights to 10 second-half points.

WWVA's Lyford scored a game-high 30 points but it wasn't enough to keep his team in contention.

The Knights appeared to have come to life in the second quarter, scoring 29, the their momentum fizzled in the third and fourth quarters.

At home Friday, River View hung with the Wolfpack through the first half but the difference was DW's 19-6 third quarter.

DW and River View finished the first half with the Panthers leading 11-10, and Kilts kicked off third-quarter scoring with a bucket giving DW the lead for good. Benny Bryan drained a three pointer for a 15-11 lead and Hansen followed with another trey.

River View missed numerous shots that might have kept them in the game, but Pettichord swished one at 3:51 to make it 20-11. Holm chipped in a bucket and Hansen added another trey for an 11-point lead.

Pettichord hit at the two-minute mark, and after a couple of Panther gifters, Bryan was fouled and made one of two. Pettichord split a pair of free throws in the final seconds for a 29-17 DW lead going into the fourth.

The final stanza was a 16-16 tie, the Wolfpack preserving its cushy lead built in the third for the win.
