Wooden boardwalks and a dirt Main Street are apparent in this early shot of the original building, known back then as the Budde Block. The business occupying the corner of 1st and Main was T. B. Gilmour Stoves and Hardware, purveyors of Superior brand stoves and ranges. Looks like they also sold wheel barrows and garden cultivators. The awnings kept the morning sun from heating the interior of the store.
