Columbia County Fire units joined in escorting fallen firefighter Ashton K. Farley, a Walla Walla Fire District 1, 3, and 7 volunteer, through the county on the way to Farley's hometown of Troy, Id., last Friday, December 6. Local units met the processional at the County Line and joined the somber line until meeting with Garfield County units east of Dayton. Farley was fatally injured at a 1:25 a.m motor vehicle accident some fourteen miles north of Walla Walla on Harvey Shaw Road November 21, according to Walla Walla County Undersheriff Joe Klundt. The accident is under investigation. Services were Saturday in Moscow, Id.
