“Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand.”

–Dr. Suess

This past week, the library prepared for the holidays and spread some Christmas magic. At our Wand making program on December 17, several families were able to craft and name their own magic wand. Each Wand had a hidden chamber ready to be filled with magic. We also successfully facilitated a Santa Mail Express program allowing community children to write letters to Santa and receive letters in return.

As we look to the new year, we have some exciting plans for future programs, renovations, and of course, a whole load of new books. At this time, we would like to let the community know that we will not be closing for two weeks in the winter, as renovations have been moved to Spring to allow more time for planning.

There was no Book Chat in December, and Family Story Time is currently on hiatus as we await the final decision on our Umpqua Bank grant application. Laser Tag in the Library will be making a return for ages 9–17 on January 3 and we are also excited to announce a recent purchase of many of the classic Disney films. So, if you’re struggling with the fear of missing out on Disney, stop by the library and browse our films today.

Happy holidays, and as always, happy reading!
