April 2, 2020

DAYTON–There is nothing more satisfying than to pluck a red, juicy tomato off the green stem or twist a nice, crisp cucumber off the vine and sink your teeth into home-grown produce and the taste of summer.

Spring has sprung and the Dayton Community Garden inquiring in the community if individuals would like to work a spot this season.

The organization has designated several 20-foot by 20-foot plots, located at the edge of town on Eckler Mountain Road near the cemetery, for community members to stake their annual claim to rich productive ground, to raise vegetables for personal use and share the abundance of the healthful fare with friends.

In addition, it is a great way to get the whole family involved in providing a healthy addition to their kitchen pantry.

For more information about joining in the gardening experience, call Bob McCauley at 382-4312 or Frank Demaris at 509-240-4309.
