Radial engines-and one Rolls Royce Merlin-thundered over Dayton on the Fourth of July, part of the fourth annual "Radials N' Rivers Let Freedom Ring 2020" formation flight of World War II warbirds by Hangar 180 of Lewiston, Id. Pilots and aircraft were aloft most of the day, beginning with flybys over Pomeroy, Dayton, Waitsburg, and up through central Washington, northeast Oregon and loops over Spokane, Coeur d'Alene and the Priest Lake region. In the formation was a North American P-51 Mustang, a Grumman F7F Tigercat, a North American B-25 Mitchell and a Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.
