January 28, 2021

DAYTON–The Columbia County Rural Library District Board of Trustees (CCRLD) selected Todd Vandenbark of Waverly, Ia., as the new CCRLD Director during the Board meeting January 25, 2021.

He will step into his new position on February 16, 2021, and will continue following quarantine protocol of Phase 1 in the effort to protect staff and patrons and re-open our community safely.

Vandenbark has a Master’s Degree in Library Science and more than 10 years of experience in Library service. He is an accomplished trainer and mentor and has extensive knowledge and experience with digital programming.

“Todd’s outgoing personality and maturity along with his experience and skills make him a great match for our library and community,” said Karin Spann, Columbia County Rural Library District Chair. “The Board is excited for him to begin and hope the community will soon have the opportunity to get to know him.”

In other business, the Trustees regretfully accepted the resignation of Kristie Korslund who has been the Interim Director since August 1, 2020. During her tenure Korslund oversaw the completion of the Library’s remodeling project and directed the library’s COVID response.

“To say she will be missed, is an immense understatement,” said Spann.
