DAYTON–The 2020 Chapter BJ, P.E.O. Citizenship Award and $300 was presented two local high school graduates last spring, but were not publicly honored due to the COVID–19 pandemic shutdown.
Boggs and Seney were considered an outstanding woman and man of their senior class who exemplified and were judged based on quality of character, scholarship and activities. The cornerstone of their integrity strongly emphasized honesty, courtesy, amiability, morality and punctuality; all marks of a good citizen.
The award consists of a certificate and a $300 check that was presented to them at graduation. The P.E.O. Citizenship Award was first presented in 1930 and has continued for these 90 years.
Kira is currently attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz., and is working toward a degree in Elementary Education. Tayven is currently attending Washington State University and working towards a degree in Agriculture Technology and Production Management.
Recipients are selected by the high school faculty, the associated student body officers and the P.E.O. Awards Committee.
