Graphic artists will take the selection of the students of schools in Dayton and Waitsburg and develop a design that will become the image the Dayton-Waitsburg Athletic Combine will play under and its fans will cheer on.
DAYTON–The vote is in and counted, and students in both the schools here and in Waitsburg have chosen "DW Wolfpack" as the mascot of the combined athletic program, Waitsburg Athletic Director and Principal Stephanie Wooderchak announced Monday.

Students in grades six through 12 had earlier come up with a short list of mascots: Threshers, Thrashers, Wolf Pack and Valley Kings. Graphic artists Boe Stevenson and Ross Hamann went to work proposing designs and the students commenced voting last week, wrapping up balloting on March 12.
Wooderchak did not indicate details on the vote.
The next step, she said, will be for Stevenson and Hamann to collaborate on a final mascot design for Dayton and Waitsburg ASB officers to consider. Wooderchak estimated this process may take three or four weeks.
