Letters to the Editor

To the editor,

I take this opportunity to express my support for Laura Aukerman for City Council Position No. 1. In my opinion she would be a strong and positive addition to the Dayton City Council. Laura has a passion to be involved in her community and has demonstrated that passion by investing in a business in Dayton and running for City Council.

She was raised in a military family that taught her commitment to Patriotism and in her words “my country, my city and my neighbors”. I have spent some time around Laura and she is a team player. When there is something to get done, she is one to jump in and see it through. Her focus is on a strong community, healthy relationships and mutual respect. Laura places emphasis on communication and the importance of listening to our citizens, soliciting feedback and having a transparent government. Her work background in the Nuclear Industry, being a highly trained emergency responder, education and community experience is evidence of her ambitious nature and her care for her community.

When asked why she is running for City Council her response was “to get involved. I want to be a part of the solution.” She believes that when there’s a fight you fight it with integrity and honesty.

I believe our community; our businesses and our families would truly benefit with Laura Aukerman on City Council.
