DAYTON–The Wenaha Art Event features a number of gallery artists, in Small Paintings: Big Impact. This Art Event is presently running and runs through October 4.

Although there are no official “rules” about what constitutes a small painting, it’s generally thought to be 12 inches or smaller, artwork size.

Artists enjoy creating small paintings because they are an opportunity to try new techniques, or simply do something a little faster, as there is not so much canvas or panel to cover. Collectors like small paintings because they tuck into many spaces, providing a big sense of picture despite their size. Through October 4, we are showcasing the small paintings of Steve Henderson, Dayton; Denise Elizabeth Stone, LaGrande, Ore.; Bonnie Griffith Montana; Teresa Adszynska, Spokane, Wash; Paul Henderson , Yakima, WA, Wash; Gordy Edberg, Langley, Wash; Steph Bucci, West Richland, Wash; and Jim McNamara, Walla Walla.

Subject matter ranges from mountain wilderness to cows in the field, from coastal beaches to bright red poppies.
