Tyler (Tiger) Dieu is a candidate for Dayton City Council Position 7.

"My name is Tyler Dieu (also known as Tiger Tate). I am 31-year-old lifelong resident of Dayton. I am a Conservative that sides with Republicans and Constitutionalists. I hold our American values near and dear on the daily. I will always make any vote or proposition with people's rights and tax money in mind. It's not government money, it's the people's money.

"If elected, I believe I'll bring the right mindset and outlook on the City of Dayton to help guide it in a successful direction. A few topics to be had would be: The City Pool, Recent Terminations/New Hires, The [Touchet Valley] Trail, City budgets and Covid issues.

"The city pool is something I want to look hard at because the need is extremely evident. Not only for our kids of Dayton, but also for our retirement-aged folks as a low-impact exercise and social gathering. I grew up every summer at that pool with a season pass. I learned how to swim there and I learned many social aspects of life there. I believe we as a community can figure out a way to make it usable again or find another route. It's something that IS doable, we just have to find the way.

"For whatever reason the three got terminated or laid off, every tax payer of Dayton deserves an explanation. I know there was or is some sort of legal reasons why we haven't gotten one, but the people need clarification and transparency on the situation. I don't have a stance of whether it was right or wrong of the mayor to do so because we haven't heard the reasoning.

"The Trail is a controversial issue between a lot of people inside and outside of city limits. It will affect everyone in one way or another. I believe that Dayton has a lot of issues to be worked out before adding more complexity to the infrastructure. I don't think we should take foot traffic off from our Main Street business corridor either.

"From what I understand, our city budget is not widely understood. I'm not an accountant but it's apparent that things need tending to. I'm looking forward to see a transparent view of what we have and where our next financially responsible steps are taken.

"Covid is also a very controversial matter in the world. I know it's real and we have to acknowledge it. We also have to find ways to understand that state and federal entities won't always have the best interest for you and I. 'We The People' didn't come this far in American history to be muzzled and jabbed unwillingly. We are still a free society and I believe that everyone should have a choice to wear a mask or get vaccinated. I will not support mandates that hinder people's rights to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.

"Side note, remember not to believe everything you read on Facebook...

"Thank you for your time and vote!"
