Gerald Lloyd Martin

October 1, 1942–January 29, 2022

Gerald Lloyd Martin went to the Lord on January 29, 2022.

He was born in Everett, Wash., to Wilber and Vera Martin on October 1, 1942. He grew up in Everett where he attended school and graduated high school, then joined the Navy. During his time in the Navy, he did scuba and hard hat diving which ended up being his career.

After leaving the Navy he married Leona and they had two children, Chris and Tina. Later he married Mary and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April 2021.

After they married, they started a scuba diving business where he taught scuba classes, sold equipment and took group trips to some tropical places. He also did some commercial diving on dams. After retiring he moved to Lummi Island, Wash., where he started a maintenance business and finally moved to Dayton, Wash. in 2011.

Jerry gave his heart to Jesus while living at Lummi. He has been a faithful servant ever since. He thoroughly enjoyed his home in Dayton and loved gardening and building things. He also loved his Church (Community Bible Church) and his Church family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; brother Ted (Helena), son Chris (Julie) Martin, daughter Tina Fleetwood, step-daughter Cindy Cruikshank, grandchildren Andrea, Jordan, Holly, Jake and nine great–grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Community Bible Church on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Community Bible Church building fund or a charity of your choice.
