Leah Jane Harris

1929–April 9, 2022

Leah Jane Harris passed away peacefully at the Parkview memory care facility in Walla Walla on April 9, 2022 at age 93.

She was the youngest of five children to Gladys and Philip Lamoreux.

Leah met and married John Harris in Leah's home town of Orofino Idaho in 1954. They moved to Dayton, where John began his teaching career, living their entire, long lives here, raising two sons in this special town.

Leah got one of the first Apple computers and transcribed manuscripts for Bob Shields. She was also very good at sewing, crocheting and quilting.

Leah helped family in times of need, but was mostly a very private person. I remember with fondness her pies, canned peaches, fried chicken and even the Salisbury steak, but not the Jello salad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers John and Steve, and sisters Mary and Jean.

She is survived by her two sons, Kelly (Diana) and Joe (Mary Leigh) and four grandchildren, Craig, Adam, Paige, and Jaime and a number of nieces and nephews in the Harris and Lamoreux family trees.

Family will get together for final arrangements in the near future. Donations in Leah's memory should be made to the charity of one's choice.
