Salmon barbecue returns after two-year hiatus

WAITSBURG–A decades-long fall tradition here is the annual Salmon Barbecue, which takes place at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 24 at the Don Thomas Building at the Fairgrounds. The barbecue was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The event is a fundraiser for the Waitsburg Lions Club and includes salmon barbecued over an open fire, baked potato, baked beans, homemade cole slaw and bread. T...
