Warden bests young Wolfpack squad

DAYTON–The Warden Lady Cougars challenged the Dayton-Waitsburg Lady Wolfpack and went away with a three-set win here Tuesday, September 27.

DW played River View at home Wednesday, October 5, and then hits the road to Walla Walla Valley Academy next Tuesday, October 11. TriCities Prep visits on Thursday, October 13 at Dayton.

The young Wolfpack, made up of four juniors, four sophomores and two freshmen, gave the Lady Cougars a good fight in the first set, being in the hunt before stumbling in the first set, 20-25.

"Our younger players have shown great growth in their playing of the game," said Head Coach Tracy Barron. She praised her upperclassmen players who have "really stepped up to help the younger ones learn the game."

In the second set, DW crumpled 12-25 and fell 15-25 in the third set.

Elsie Mann counted six kills, four blocks, three digs and a pair of aces.


Makenna Barron also nailed six kills and blocked four, with five digs, a couple assists and an ace serve.

Kylee Henry made 18 assists, a block and a dig.
