Wolfpack clobbers Mabton Vikings, 58-0

MABTON–After battling to a draw in the first 12 minutes, the Dayton-Waitsburg Wolfpack took off, ripping up 30 second-quarter points and cruising to a 58-0 EWAC conference win over the still winless Mabton Vikings.

The DW win makes the overall record 5-1, with a 1-1 EWAC East record. The Wolfpack faces 2-0 Columbia-Burbank this Friday in Waitsburg, kick off at 7 p.m.

Columbia and River View both share 2-0 records with DW and TriCities Prep sharing 1-1 records. Warden and Mabton are 0-2.

The Wolfpack's totaled 432 yards of offense, 255 rushing and 177 in the passing game.

Quarterback Monte Pettichord completed 58% of his 7/12 passes, gaining 177 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He also hustled in a 17-yard score in the third quarter.

Hudson Reser chalked up 124 yards on six carries and crossed the goal line two times.

Rushing was split up fairly evenly among ball carriers with Preston Hansen adding 27 yards on two carries, Spencer Hansen rushing one time for 27 yards and Isaias Reyes, a freshman carrying four times for 27 yards. Kason Fortune gained 14 yards on four carries and Cougar Anderson got the pigskin once for 19 yards.

P. Hansen caught two passes for 66 yards and Daylan Marlow caught two for 58 yards.

Morris pulled in Pettichord passes two times for 53 yards.
