Christmas Kick-off, Dayton's traditional welcome to the holiday season, gets underway Friday and Saturday, November 24-25, with a plethora of activities and events slated for both days...favorites such as the Living Nativity behind Dingle's of Dayton, the Ugly Sweater 5K, the lighted parade, Christmas trees, and, of course, Santa Claus bringing up the last of the parade before fireworks. These are only a few of the tons of things the Chamber of Commerce has put together this year (see ad on page 4.) One of the Dayton traditions for students from Dayton Elementary is the crafting of their own Christmas ornaments and the field trip to Elk Drug to hang them on the Community Christmas Tree, as these fourth graders, with the help of Pacific Power's Doug Hinds, did last Tuesday.

DAYTON–Now that the pumpkin pie has settled and you've enjoyed a late-night turkey sandwich, it's time for the Dayton Chamber of Commerce's 2022 Christmas Kick-off here Friday and Saturday, November 25-26.

It's a chance to get started on Christmas shopping, gathering and mingling with family and friends in a festive atmosphere and see all the sights that "The Town That Still Believes" is famous for.

This year there is something new to experience: stick around after the fireworks for live music, toasted marshmallows and camaraderie at the Chamber's "Family Friendly After Party from 7-9 p.m. in the blocked-off portion of 2nd and Main Street. Enjoy live music, dancing, marshmallow roasting around fire pits, hot dogs and hot chocolate. Performing will be Gary and Erica Winston.

Christmas Kick-off gets rolling around 10 a.m. Friday, November 25 with the Festival of Trees and Selfies with Santa at 219 E. Main Street (formerly Wenaha Gallery). The "trees" and "selfies" also take place Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m.
