Waitsburg's Hometown Christmas celebration this weekend

WAITSBURG–You'd better watch out because Santa Claus is making his pre-Christmas rounds, and this weekend he'll be in Waitsburg for the 37th Annual Hometown Christmas, set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The celebration gets going with the Veterans Benefit Bingo at the Waitsburg Elementary School MultiPurpose Room. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games get started at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, activities move to the Town Hall with shopping and vendors plying their wares from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and again on Sunday. The Town Hall kitchen will also offer breakfast and snack at those times both days.

The Grinch will be in Waitsburg on Saturday, posing for pictures from noon till 2 p.m. at Ten Ton Coffee. Look for JJ from Coco Mellon and Encanto at the Town Hall and around Main Street on Saturday, from noon until 3 p.m.

Kids should head to Town Hall at 1 p.m. Saturday to for cookie decorating

On Sunday, Kris Kringle will take time out of his busy schedule to hear gift wishes and pose for pictures at Ten Ton Coffee, from noon until 4 p.m.

At the Town Hall, beginning at noon and going until 3 p.m., local talent will be performing on stage for the public's enjoyment.

The FFA Tree Decorating winner will be announced at 3 p.m., and promptly at 3:15 p.m., the Door Prize Drawing will commence, courtesy of local merchants and Commercial Club.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will happen on Main Street at 5 p.m., followed by the Chili Dinner at American 35, 128 Main Street, at 6 p.m. It's $10 for adults, $5 for 12 and under, presented by American 35 and Waitsburg Commercial Club.

All three days Nancy's Dream Garden will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as will Gaudy Gals at the Town Hall, with hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (4:30 on Sunday).
