Restoring the circuit

December 29, 2022

Many years ago, England's King George was preparing to deliver a radio message that was to be broadcast in the US when a cable broke in the New York relay station. Harold Vivian provided the solution by picking up both ends of the cable as 250 volts of electricity passed through his body. The report says that the current shook his body for 20 minutes without a break until the problem was fixed. Harold was the link whose body restored the circuit that allowed the King's message to be delivered.

This courageous man provides us with an illustration of the meaning of Christmas. Jesus came to give Himself in restoring man's relationship with God. He provided Himself as the link, according to the Father's plan, to bring us salvation through the pain and suffering He experienced in His own body on the cross. He not only brought the message but He was the embodiment of that message as well for "God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself" and "Christ died for our sins".

The Bible wonderfully says, "But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." (Ga. 4:4-6)

Jesus Christ will come into our lives, forgive our sins, and give us eternal life when we place our trust in Him.
