Dayton-Waitsburg was competitive in the first quarter of its game against River View, holding a 9-8 lead, but the Lady Panthers defended well, holding DW to single digits while building a lead. Here, Alyssa Hollingsworth reacts to a pass coming her way on the way to the Lady Wolfpack's end of the court. The pass was from Kameryn Tupling (12).

COLLEGE PLACE–The Walla Walla Valley Academy Lady Knights scored consistently and defended well on their way to a 48-18 win over the Lady Wolfpack here Saturday, and Dayton-Waitsburg was competitive early in the River View game the night before, but the offense fizzled in the second and third quarters, yielding a 45-31 loss to the Lady Panthers. DW 1-6 season record, 0-3 in league.

The Lady Wolfpack faced Warden last Tuesday in the first of three straight home games, and will take on Columbia-Burbank Friday and TriCities Prep on the Dayton gym hardwood this weekend.

River View's Rogers scored a game-high 12 and DW's Peyton Benavides wasn't far behind with a team-high 11.

Peyton Benavides drained a three and added two buckets in the first quarter, with Makenna Barron's pair of gifters, gave the Lady Wolfpack nine to River View's eight.

But the Lady Panthers played teamwork to divvy up scoring while taking advantage of a scoring drought by DW to lead 21-11 at the break. They scored 13 points in the second and third quarters while holding DW to 2 and 7, respectively, and securing the River View win

"Consistency is our biggest opponent right now," commented Head Coach Kirk Hansen. "Once we consistently defend and rebound the offense will take care of itself."

Versus WWVA on Saturday, the powerful Lady Knights stymied DW's offense, even holding the Lady Wolfpack to no score in the second quarter, going into the locker room at half time ahead 27-9.

Peyton Benavides and Marissa Tupling were the only points in the third and Tupling drained a three in the fourth, adding to a bucket by Teagan Culley to round out DW's scoring.
