Teagen Culley (10) leaves her Warden defender behind as she dribbles into an open key in action from Dayton-Waitsburg's 66-14 loss to the Cougars January 10 at home.

DAYTON–Short-staffed and plagued with injuries, the Dayton-Waitsburg Lady Wolfpack canceled its non-league game against Pomeroy last Tuesday after taking a battering over the weekend. TriCities Prep downed the Lady Wolfpack 64-14, Columbia hammered them 54-4 over last weekend's game, and Warden blew past them 66-14 January 10 at home.

The team gets a week to recuperate before meeting Liberty Christian in a non-league game January 24 on the home court, then hits the road against River View Jan. 27, Columbia Jan. 28 and Warden Jan. 31.

Senior Night concludes the season Thursday, February 2.

The Lady Jaguars, led by Balcom's game-high 22 and defense which stymied the Lady Wolfpack, blanking them in the second quarter, finished with a 64-14 win Jan. 14.

Peyton Benavides led DW scoring with nine, and Alyssa Hollingsworth hit a free throw and a bucket for three points. Teagen Culley scored a bucket in the first quarter.

Against Columbia-Burbank, the lid went on the bucket in the worst way in the second half for Dayton-Waitsburg. The team was held scoreless in the second half and Hollingsworth and Benavides scored the only baskets in the first half.

Pariera scored eight in the first quarter on her way to a game-high 19 for Columbia.

When Warden visited January 10, the score was a lop-sided 66-14, but Dayton-Waitsburg scoring included three pointers from Peyton Benavides and Alyssa Hollingsworth. Benavides hit hers in the first quarter where she accounted for all six of DW's points, and Hollingsworth swished hers in the third period, counting half of the team's six points that quarter, the other three by Benavides on a bucket and a free throw.
