The Wolfpack defeated Warden 58-53, thanks to 26 points by guard Spencer Hansen (2), here getting an assist from Monte Pettichord as a Warden defender hits the planks during a fast break.

DAYTON–It was a bumpy weekend for the Wolfpack, who suffered losses to TriCities Prep and Columbia-Burbank after notching a win over Warden last week. Dayton-Waitsburg is 6-5 overall, 3-3 in league.

They played a non counter last Tuesday here against Pomeroy, then host Liberty Christian next Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The Jaguars of TriCities Prep clawed back from a 12-8 first-quarter deficit to a 25-24 ballgame at half time. It was tied 38-38 after three quarters and TCP won the fourth quarter and the game to hand its second loss in eight outings.

After Blake French tied the game 40-40 early in the fourth, TCP tiptoed away, scoring eight unanswered points to put the win on ice.

Spencer Hansen boasted the game-high 21 points while Blake McClure paced the Jags with 19.

Columbia-Burbank proved too prolific at the rim, taking a 16-13 lead and building on it every quarter for the 72-58 league win.

Quincy Scott held the game-high 27 points for the Coyotes, and Hansen was the Wolfpack's top scorer with 23.

The Coyotes built a small lead in the opening minutes, but DW came back, tying it on a Hansen free throw at 1:33 in the first. But C-B tallied nine points in a row and maintain a small but comfortable lead, Blake French's bucket late in the second quarter drawing DW within four, 30-26, but the Coyotes pulled away and led the rest of the way.

Warden came out on the short end, 58-53 on Jan. 10 at home, but not before making a fourth-quarter challenge that shave Dayton-Waitsburg's usually comfortable lead to just five points, thanks to a last-second trey by Kayden Cox.

Hansen popped in 26 points for a game-high performance, making nine of 15 shots from the floor and shooting 58% from the free throw line. Anthony Gutierrez had 17 to lead Warden scorers.
