FFA visits Olympia

DAYTON–The FFA chapter attended "Corduroy at the Capital" in Olympia February 1-3. This trip was a great opportunity for the Chapter Officers to build bonds as well as work on leadership skills. Dayton FFA attended a "Politics 101" Workshop held by the Washington State FFA Association. Many FFA members from all over Washington were able to learn and experience great things during this Workshop. The Dayton FFA Officers had a meeting with a Representative and got the chance to explore the Capitol of Washington.

The Class of 2024 is selling "Candy Grams" for Valentine's Day every day from February 7-14 before and after school in the high school Commons. This fundraiser will raise money for next year's Senior Trip as well as for Prom this year. With the chocolate left over from the fundraiser in the winter, the Junior Class wanted to utilize it for Valentine's Day due to how well these fundraisers do from previous years.

Dayton High School (DHS) will be hosting a "Club Fair" on February 15 during lunch at 11:48 a.m. to 12:22 p.m. The "Club Fair" is to encourage more students to join clubs throughout the High School and help them learn what the clubs are all about. Some clubs include: ASB, FFA, Robotics, Outdoors Club, etc. Representatives and advisors from each club will have a designated table to give out information to students, share pictures, present, and for member sign-ups. This is a great way to connect with the community and increase student involvement throughout DHS.
