Wolfpack junior guard Ryland Kilts had an opening and took the shot in DW's 70-44 win over the Knights last week. Kilts scored nine, hitting a three, a few buckets and some free throws.

WHITE SWAN–The second time was the charm for DW, which avenged its season-opening loss at White Swan with a playoff counter to advance in the EWAC 2B District tournament. The Wolfpack's 65-47 win last Tuesday sends DW to face Columbia-Burbank in a 6 p.m. showdown at Columbia High School Friday, February 10.

Columbia clobbered Goldendale 71-30, TriCities Prep slashed Mabton 61-37 and Cle Elum hammered Warden 85-36, setting up the TriCities Prep vs. Cle Elum contest on Friday in Cle Elum. Meeting in the consolation bracket Friday in loser-out games will be Goldendale at White Swan and Warden at Mabton.

Dayton-Waitsburg has its work cut out for it, losing to C-B 72-58 and 84-20 during league meetings.

The Wolfpack wrapped up the season with a Senior Night win over Walla Walla Valley Academy, 70-44, and manhandled Warden the previous week 61-53.

Spencer Hansen scored 23 and Monte Pettichord 19 in the sound win over WWVA.

DW blew out to a 19-9 lead in the first quarter and kept the pedal to the metal through the second and third quarters to coast to the win.

At Warden on January 31, the Cougars got the early jump on DW, but a Benny Bryan bucket knotted it at 10 all in the first quarter. Gage Holm drained a three and followed with another basket to bump the Wolfpack ahead, but Warden rallied to tie it 15-15.

There, the scoreboard got stuck for the Cougars as DW went on a 14-point run for a 29-20 halftime lead.

Both teams battled and Warden clawed back, cutting the difference to five points, 37-32 with 3:20 to play in the third.

In the fourth quarter, Holm hit a bucket to grow the lead to six points, Pettichord swished a free throw and Hansen counted two more from the charity stripe to give DW a 57-50 lead with 1:40 remaining. From there, Warden resorted to fouling to regain possession and DW maintained its winning margin.
